Real Madrid Struggles: Twitter Slams Perez For Selling Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid's dominance in the UEFA Champions League is finally over after they were defeated 4 - 1 by Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu last night.

The Galacticos were stunned by a young Ajax side who overturned their 2 - 1 home deficit to win on a 5 - 3 aggregate. This means that the Dutch outfit has progressed from a Champions League Round of 16 stage for the first time in 22 years.

Los Blancos are looking at a trophy-less season as they crashed out of the Copa del Rey last week and a second Clasico defeat to Barcelona the same week has left them with no hopes at challenging for the Spanish league title.

The dismal results mean even worse for Santiago Solari who has been under the scanner even before the Champions League game. A qualification to the quarter-final would have helped the Argentine salvage his season but it appears his side have hit the last nail on their coffin.

Of course, it got even more difficult for Solari to truly make an impact in the absence of an efficient goal-scorer since the club's all-time top-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo was sold to Serie A giants Juventus last summer.

Last year, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner revealed that it was his changed relationship with president Florentino Perez that led him to the departure.

In an interview with France Football, the Portuguese said, "He only ever looked at me as a business relationship. I know it. What he told me never came from the heart.

"That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave. There was a bit of that, but the truth is that I always had the impression that the president would not hold me back.

“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he said.

"In the first four or five years there, I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’. Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean."

Many have slammed Perez for his decision but the sentiments once again came up after Real Madrid's humiliating loss at home last night.

Fans took to Twitter to slam the club president:

@TheOnlyBKB Very difficult time to be a Real Madrid fan.... but to have Ronaldo and Zidane leave was a terrible decision. And to have Keylor Navas-who was one of the high performers in the Champs league-sidelined, Fiorentino Perez should be blamed

@CharveeG7 Perez owes the fans an apology for selling hands down the best player to have ever worn a Real Madrid shirt and replacing him with a player that can’t even make the starting 11. Absolutely horrific.

@yoyosooraj619 From not playing Marcelo to playing Vinicius the management has been terrible. The board, coach, few players and the fans have been an utter disgrace this season. What was Perez thinking. #RealAjax #RealMadrid

2019 UEFA Award: Top 5 contenders for player of the year

Ronaldo is the record winner of the award While it might seem like everything concerning last season has been done and dusted with all the major competitions having been decided, it is germane to note that one aspect which has not been settled is the handing out of individual awards based on perfomances in the period under review. Numerous prestigious personal awards are still to be decided, with the Ballon d'Or, FIFA Best and UEFA Best Men's Player accolades all coming up for grabs in the next couple of months. While it might be in the shadow of more illustrious awards like the Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best, the UEFA awards are prestigious accolades in their own right and are highly rated by players and fans alike. The awards were introduced in 2011 to initially replace the Ballon d'Or (which was merged with the FIFA World Best in 2010), and has Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric as its current holder. Crstiano Ronaldo is the record winner of the accolade, while Lio...

Real Madrid Fans Demand Solari's Sack

Real Madrid fans could not contain their anger after their team were eliminated from the Champions League by Ajax. Real Madrid lost their last 16 second leg with Ajax 4-1 in what was a dismal display for the 13-time European champions. Goals from Hakim Ziyech and David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone were what Ajax needed to coast to a 5-3 victory on aggregate. Real Madrid have won the Champions League in each of the last three seasons, so their exit is damning for the Spanish giants. And now the fans have expressed their rejection for Solari, who was appointed as manager in October following Julien Lopetegui’s sacking, asking that he is sacked on social media.

The Best Online Business to Start with No Money: The Zero-Investment Plan

A day consists of 1440 minutes with the average person spending 480 of them sleeping. Waking up, already left with merely 960 minutes, one might wonder if the successful people he admires have the same amount of petty time at their disposal daily. If so, how should these minutes be spent for them to make a difference in one’s life? Surely, a nine-to-five does typically generate  a steady income  but who would want  that  engraved on a tombstone? After all, one needs to invest his time in either emotional value or a mental one. And the white-collar duties do little to support that. This is why, succeeding the builders of the modern workspace, today’s generation is thriving to create meaningful relationships, have an impact on the new world, and pursue careers that make them happy. When you combine all of these aspirations with a low budget, they may appear infeasible to fulfill. As we know, however, on our blog we love to bust myths about the impossib...

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu Claims Dembele is Better than Neymar

Ousmane Dembele is a better player than Neymar, according to Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu. Neymar became  the most expensive player in the world in August 2017 when he left Barca for Paris Saint-Germain after the Ligue 1 side triggered his €222million release clause. Barca invested the sum in the likes of Dembele, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €105m, although his time at Camp Nou has been disrupted by injury and disciplinary issues. But Dembele has made 23 LaLiga appearances so far this season, scoring eight goals to help Ernesto Valverde's side establish a seven-point lead over Atletico Madrid in the title race. And although Barca have regularly been linked with pushing for Neymar to return, Bartomeu signalled he is happy with Dembele as the Brazilian's replacement. "I won't say yes or no," Bartomeu told Cadena SER when asked if Barca could buy Neymar back.  "I say that with their [PSG's] money, Barca made a sport...

Scooper Spirituality: Why Comedy In The Church Is Highly Improper

We live in a time where morals and values are being dumbed down consistently to suit people's moral decadence.  If there's a place that shouldn't be influenced by all this, it should be the Church.  The Church is more than just a physical representation of the Christian religion, it ought to be a sanctified ground that exudes holiness and purity.  But just like the outside world, the church is dumbing down its values and allowing certain practices that are associated with the world to take place in the church.  On the 7th of December, The House On The Rock Church put together the 13th edition of its annual Experience gospel concert. This year's edition had over 700,000 people in attendance and dignitaries such as the major gubernatorial candidates for Lagos state Jimi Agbaje (PDP) and Jide Sanwo-Olu (APC) were in attendance.  This gospel event was hosted by Banky W and Richard Mofe Damijo and had comedians like Akpororo to "entertain" the crowd.  I...
