The FC Barcelone Anthem

The FC Barcelona Anthem: "El Cant del Barça"

By tradition at the Camp Nou, the club anthem, called ‘El Cant del Barça' is played on the stadium loudspeaker system, and all the fans sing along in unison


The song was written in 1974 as part of Barcelona's 75th Anniversary Celebrations. The lyrics are by Jaume Picas and Josep M. Espinàs and it is set to the music of Manuel Valls Gorina
On November 27, 1974, and as part of the Club's 75th Anniversary celebrations, 'Cant del Barça', was solemnly sung for the first time by 3,500 voices conducted by Oriol Martorell.

At the arrival of Laporta in 2003, the "Catalan Kennedy" demands that the words parade on the screens of the stadium so that all Blaugrana fans can sing the hymn. This giant karaoke was set up for the first time in a league match against Chelsea.

The hymn reminds us of the open and integrating character of the club: "No matter where we come from, South or North, ... A flag brings us together."

When the reality tv show “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” premiered we were all hoping that Michael would ultimately end up with Angela, things didn't necessarily work out that way though.  At the end of the show, Angela stormed off when it emerged that 30-year-old Micheal had told his friends that the 52-year-old Angela needed respect as she was his elder. She took off her engagement ring and called it quits with him.   Now though, it seems Angela is back. Taking to Instagram, Micael posted a picture of himself and Angela together, captioning the photo: “Welcome back. Angie baby #beforethe90days” So it seems Angela will be getting her Nigerian prince and we will be getting our happily ever after. YAY! Peep the post below:

Ronaldinho sends message to Barcelona Lionel Messi

Brazil legend, Ronaldinho, on Monday congratulated Barcelona and Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, on his 32nd birthday. Ronaldinho, who took to his verified Twitter handle, wished Messi good health, happiness and success as he marks another year. The 39-year-old wrote: “Congratulations Leo! I wish you all better, health, happiness and success! I hope to see you soon, brother.” Ronaldinho played alongside Messi during his time at Barcelona. The former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan star gave Messi his first Barcelona goal on 1st May 2005, with an assist in the club’s 2-0 victory over Albacete at Camp Nou. Messi is currently on international duty for the 2019 Copa America in Brazil.

Barcelona have announced that head coach Ernesto Valverde will leave the club at the end of the 2018-19 season. The Spanish boss' future has been in question since being dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of Liverpool, with the  LaLiga champions having been firmly among the favourites to lift the trophy. Having failed to do so, the Catalan giants and the 55-year-old are set to part ways in the summer. A statement on the club's website reads: "Ernesto Valverde will not sit on the Barcelona bench in the 2019-2020 season." No statements have been made by either party as to where Valverde- who has won two la liga titles, one Cop del rey looking foward for another one as they are in the final and a Spanish Super cup titles during his time at Barcelona- will end up next season.

JAMB to prosecute institutions and candidates found breaching the admission process

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that it will work with security agencies to prosecute any institution or candidate, found breaching its admission’s code of operations. The board made this known in its latest Weekly Bulletin. t said that henceforth, stringent measures, including prosecution, would be taken against erring candidates or institutions once a prima facie case has been established against them. JAMB Registrar noted that although the Central Admissions Process System (CAPS) had made the admission process transparent, fair, and equitable, some stakeholders were, however, working hard to circumvent the system. He said that one of the infractions observed, especially being committed by institutions, included offering candidates admission outside CAPS.
