Pep Guardiola makes major claims amidst Barcelona return rumours

Pep Guardiola makes major claims amidst Barcelona return rumours

Pep Guardiola claims “Manchester City might not be able to compete with top teams” amidst Barcelona return rumors as Bartomeu issues message.

Barcelona are interested in bringingPep Guardiola back to Camp Nou amid rumours that the manager will leave Manchester City at the end of this season.
Club President Josep Bartomeu has clearly stated that Pep Guardiola is always welcomed back to the club if he so chooses. Pep is in his fourth year at Etihad and has recently publically criticized his squad after their 2-1 defeat to local rivals Manchester United on Saturday.
“[Manchester] United have the quality to defend and the quality to attack on the counter-attack and you have to accept that, That is the level we face against Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus. They are the teams we have to face and the reality is maybe we are not able now to compete with them.” Pep said, Source BBC
He has also stated that he is no longer thinking of winning the European Cup, the only trophy he has yet to achieve with the Premier League side,

“We are not thinking of winning the Champions League, I am not thinking about how many points we need or how many points they have to drop. We are trying to win games, to win the next one.” Guadiola continued
The Spanish coach led his Barca squad to legendary status while integrating the club’s famous tiki-taka style of play that saw the club gain tremendous success. The former Bayern coach enjoyed 4 seasons at the Nou Camp and recent reports claim that the two sides may soon reunite.
President Bartomeu in a recent interview with La Repubblica, publically stated that Guardiola is always welcomed back and that the decision depends on the Coach’s own desires,
“It doesn’t depend on me. It was Pep who decided to leave, but the door will always be open for him at Barca.”
Currently, Blaugrana are managed by Ernesto Valverde with whom the club have experienced two disastrous exits from the Champions League. Thus, the return of the most successful manager in the club’s history will surely bring some excitement among the fans. With the Spanish coach’s current City contract expiring in 2021, this dream move may soon become a reality.
Manchester City are in the third spot in the Premier League table, 14 points behind leaders, Liverpool and with Pep claiming it is unlikely that Man City will win the Champions League this season, it might not be a surprise to see the 48-year-old leave Etihad this season as it was him who claimed that his stay with City would depend on the results.
“I’m so comfortable working with this club, and when you are [somewhere for] five years it depends on the results. We will see what happens this season,” he said back in November. ExpressW

Barcelona should sign Neymar over Griezmann - Rivaldo

A Camp Nou legend believes a fellow Brazilian would be a more logical signing for the Liga champions than a World Cup winner at Atletico Madrid Barcelona have been advised to shelve any interest in Antoine Griezmann and instead look to bring Neymar back to the club, with Rivaldo seeing a move for the Brazilian making more sense. Those at Camp Nou are currently mulling over their options for the summer transfer window. A new frontman is considered to figure prominently on their wish list, with several options being mooted. Griezmann, as a long-standing target, was expected to be snapped up after requesting a switch away from Atletico Madrid. No approach has been made, though, for the French World Cup winner. That is leaving the door open for others, with Neymar having been linked with a retracing of his steps to Catalunya from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. Barca legend Rivaldo told  Betfair  on the approach he would take: “If I...

Real Madrid Fans Demand Solari's Sack

Real Madrid fans could not contain their anger after their team were eliminated from the Champions League by Ajax. Real Madrid lost their last 16 second leg with Ajax 4-1 in what was a dismal display for the 13-time European champions. Goals from Hakim Ziyech and David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone were what Ajax needed to coast to a 5-3 victory on aggregate. Real Madrid have won the Champions League in each of the last three seasons, so their exit is damning for the Spanish giants. And now the fans have expressed their rejection for Solari, who was appointed as manager in October following Julien Lopetegui’s sacking, asking that he is sacked on social media.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari and his son-in-law, Mr. Junaid Abdullahi of allegedly engaging in corruption, economic sabotage and unethical conduct by using funds from fake contract awards to fund the president’s re-election campaign to the tune of about N18bn. In a statement on Tuesday, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu said the All Progressives Congress, APC, controlled Federal Government has allegedly been using the Border Communities Development Agency, BDCA, headed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s son-in-law, Mr. Abdullahi for hundreds of phony lawmakers’ constituency projects, using non-existent firms to fund Buhari’s electioneering campaign. Real Madrid Struggles: Twitter Slams Perez For Selling Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid's dominance in the UEFA Champions League is finally over after they were defeated 4 - 1 by Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu last night. The Galacticos were stunned by a young Ajax side who overturned their 2 - 1 home deficit to win on a 5 - 3 aggregate. This means that the Dutch outfit has progressed from a Champions League Round of 16 stage for the first time in 22 years. Los Blancos are looking at a trophy-less season as they crashed out of the Copa del Rey last week and a second Clasico defeat to Barcelona the same week has left them with no hopes at challenging for the Spanish league title. The dismal results mean even worse for Santiago Solari who has been under the scanner even before the Champions League game. A qualification to the quarter-final would have helped the Argentine salvage his season but it appears his side have hit the last nail on their coffin. Of course, it got even more difficult for Solari to truly make an impact in the absence of an efficien...
