De Jong calls De Ligt to Barcelona

Speaking to Sky Sport after Holland's 3-1 UEFA Nations League win over England last night, new Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is to join the club from Ajax at the start of July, has called his teammate and friend Matthijs de Ligt to Barça once again.

De Ligt is a target of Liverpool, Juventus and Manchester United but Barcelona have appeared as the frontrunners for some time.

Speaking to Sky, De Jong said: "I hope he comes with me to Barça, I hope so. It is clear that we have talked about his future, but it is a topic that he and his family must discuss first. I cannot influence his decision."

Zamfara Twin Sisters: Kidnappers Reduce Ransom To N15m, Vow To Kill One if...

Daily Nigerian reports that the kidnappers who abducted 16-year-old twin sisters in Zamfara have threatened to kill one of the girls if payment of their ransom is not made on time. Hassana and Hussaina, whose wedding was slated for December, were abducted at their elder sister's residence in Dauran village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. They had visited their sister, Summaya, 20, in preparation for their wedding. Their father, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf, said the kidnappers had initially demanded N150 million. A family member, Ibrahim Abubakar, who spoke with the kidnappers and the twins on phone said the kidnappers had reduced the ransom to N15million. “We are only able to get N6m selling our properties and receiving contributions from family members, politicians, traders and ordinary people,” Mr Abdubakar told Daily Nigerian on Thursday night.
