Man City fans still haven’t come to terms with their First Leg Champions League loss to Tottenham following a 78th-minute goal by Son. The loss has put a damper on City’s quadruple chances as they must put in extra effort when both teams meet at the Etihad Stadium.

If they want to improve their chances of winning the second leg, they should put Scooper’s 5 reasons why Man City lost to Tottenham into consideration. They are as follows:
· Guardiola's Arrogance/ Overconfidence
This was perhaps the most noticeable reason for City’s loss last night. Pep Guardiola displayed a touch of arrogance in his decision not to start City’s best midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne and it cost them greatly. His team selection was confusing, featuring a new system which saw David Silva in a more advanced role and, most intriguingly, Delph doubling as a left-back and holding midfielder, flitting between the positions depending on the whereabouts of the ball.

City was missing the injured Bernardo Silva, but who would have thought Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gündogan would be selected ahead of Leroy Sané and Kevin De Bruyne?
Perhaps it would have worked out very differently if Agüero had scored from the VAR-assisted penalty.
It was and still is difficult to understand why a routinely successful side would experiment with a new formation and tactics for such a key assignment. City has, after all, beaten everyone in the Premier League by playing the way they know best. Sadly, Manchester City was barely able to create chances, having only 2 shots on target in the entire game.
· Aguero KUN’t Deliver
Likewise, Aguero-who is the highest goal scorer this EPL season (19 goals) seemed to be trying to cope with his return from injury.

His 12th-minute penalty miss also seemed to immensely affect the striker’s psyche as he was almost useless throughout the game and was subbed off in the 71st minute.
· Pochettino's Brilliance
Despite City’s mistakes which played a pivotal role in their loss, Tottenham coach, Pochettino’s brilliance cannot be overemphasized. His 4-2-3-1 formation was obviously the best to counter City’s 4-3-3.

They were quicker to the ball, strong in tackle and determined to unsettle their opponents with intensity. Kane chased down everything during his time on the pitch. He took several hits for his troubles, particularly when Fernandinho banged him with an elbow then repeated the trick while they were on the floor.
Kane was soon subbed off when Delph’s studs landed on his left ankle and as soon as the striker rose to his feet, he never looked back at the pitch again, making his way down the tunnel with the aid of one of the club’s medics.
. New Home, New Spirit
Pochettino’s team has looked a different out since they moved to their new stadium; talk about good investment!!! They have won the two games played on their new turf. Prior to the move, they hadn’t won any of their last five games in the Premier League.

Talk about, marking your territory.
· Son Of The Soil
It’s safe to say that the new stadium is Son’s own turf. The South-Korean forward netted the only goal in the Champions League clash which helped Tottenham win the game.

This is Son’s second goal in two games at Tottenham’s new stadium.
Who is their father? Son!
