4 main reasons for Valverde to be sacked
In his blog post, our user Ahmed Zaheer outlines 4 main reasons why Valverde shouldn't continue as Barcelona coach.
"FC BARCELONA is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and still they've not been able to win the most prestigious trophy in Europe for the last 4 years. Our coach Ernesto Valverde is to blame for our last two CL exits and he shouldn't continue as the Barcelona coach next season and here's why:
1. Winning mentality
The most important thing a coach can do with the players is increasing their morale, increasing their faith, motivating them. Jurgen Klopp is the best example for that. On the other hand, Valverde doesn't seem to care. He doesn't shout at his untouchables, he doesn't get behind their backs. In simple words, he doesn't have a CL winning mentality.
2. Youth
Only one player has completely broke through to the first team in the last two years. Yes, Barca have become more demanding, but this is our way, this is our tradition and we should never compromise on them. It takes time, but last year Jose Arnaiz could've been promoted, Juan Miranda could've been promoted this year, Moussa Wague could've been promoted this year also. And I can assure you, Alena would never have been promoted if Denis Suarez didn't leave and Rafinha didn't get injured.
3. His untouchables
The biggest problem with this coach so far is the untouchables, any other team in Europe doesn't have this except for us. We had the squad depth, but Ernesto Valverde doesn't want to rotate it properly. Players like Malcom, Juan Miranda, Cillessen didn't get enough minutes this season. He just doesn't want to take his untouchables out. Ter stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Alba and Busquets almost start every game and Valverde doesn't take them out and now these players are coming out to support him just because they have been assured a starting spot.
4. Dependence on Messi
The worst thing about him is that his tactics depend on Leo Messi. If he doesn't perform, nobody else wants to perform or even tries to. He completely depends on him, his teammates depend on him. This can only be solved by bringing the best out of the youth and getting a new management. It is a must thing this summer and I think after two embarrassing UCL exits, board should sack him."
