Lionel Messi branded 'Best of all Time' after comparison in career of Christiano Ronaldo (See Stats hereπππππ)
LIONEL MESSI is the greatest player of all-time and is more entertaining to watch than Cristiano Ronaldo.
That is accroding to former Inter Milan and Uruguay forward Alvaro Recoba.
Messi and Ronaldo are widely regarded as being the best two players of their generation and they have taken the game to a new level in recent years.
Until last year where Luka Modris won the award, either Messi or Ronaldo had won the last ten Ballon d'Or trophies on offer.
The award has been shared five times each and the debate as to who is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) goes on and on.
And both can state a solid claim as to who is the best when all things are considered.
Messi has played for Barcelona for the whole of his career and has won everything there is to win at club level.
The Argentina international helped himself to a tenth La Liga crown of his career last season and has won four Champions League titles.
Incredibly, the 32-year-old has scored 603 goals in 687 games for Barcelona, a club record, and 419 in La Liga, another record.

The only blip on Messi's record so far is the fact that he is yet to win an international trophy with Argentina.
Aside from winning an Olympic gold medal in 2008, Messi has lost in a World Cup final and in multiple Copa America finals.
Cristiano Ronaldo does not have to worry about that after winning the European Championships and the inaugral UEFA Nations League with Portugal.
And the 34-year-old's statistics stack up to those of Messi, having scored 601 goals in his 806 career appearances.
And the hitman has won five Champions League titles in his career, one more than Messi.
He is also the only player to have won league titles in England (Manchester United), Spain (Real Madrid), and Italy (Juventus).
Overall though he has only won six league tltles compared to Messi's ten.
Comparing the two giants of world football though, Recoba feels that Messi has the edge.
"Messi has been at the top for 15 years," he told Perform.
"People can say that he hasn't moved from Barcelona. Yes, but his teammates have changed, and he's still there.
"For me, Messi is the best of all time," he added.
Recoba implied that, if the two had not been playing in the same period, it would not be up for debate as to who was the better individual.
"When it comes to Cristiano, if they had played in different eras, it would be a different story," he added.
"But since they have played in the same era, it is normal for them to be compared.
"Now, if both are playing at the same time and I have to choose a game, I prefer to watch a Messi match."
