Top world's poorest countries (see Nigeria's position)

Countries' economies are ranked based on their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capital and how it affects the economic stability of an average person staying in those nations. This is why the state of a country’s GDP can reflect if the country is wealthy or poor.
According to Focus Economies, most of the top 10 worst economies in the world are on the African continent with the Democratic Republic of Congo taking the lead with a poor GDP per capita of $439 despite the fact that the country has abundant natural resources.

Mozambique follows at second position with $429 GDP per capital, Uganda and Tajikistan take third and fourth positions with $726 and $777 respectively.
5. Yemen
Yemen is at the fifth position with $762 GDP as at 2017 and a projected $1079 GDP for 2023. Yemen’s economy has been affected by incessant civil war and humanitarian crisis.
6. Haiti
Haiti is on the sixth position with $776 GDP being a country that has been extremely vulnerable to extreme weather and natural disaster as World Bank says the 90% of the country’s population is at risk.
7. Ethiopia
Ethiopia ranks seventh with a 2016 GDP of $884. The country is has been really economically challenged because it is landlocked and its neighbor, Djibouti, acts as the main port. However, the country is ranked as the fast growing economy in Africa.
8. Tanzania
Tanzania has a 2017 GDP of $1037 with a projected $1502 GDP by 2023 with a projected $1502. Tanzania’s economy has been on a steady growth as the poverty rate has been falling according to World Bank.
9. Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan is ninth with $1203. The Kyrgyz economy is at the mercy of external influence due to its over-reliance on gold export.
10. Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is 10th on the ranking with a projected GDP of $2351 by 2023 and $1514 2017 GDP as the country’s economy growth was fast between 2004 and 2016.
Nigeria ranks 20th among other economies of the world with $2318 projected GDP for 2019.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s statistics released in 2018 for 2017 revealed that Nigeria and South Africa are the largest economies in Africa with a combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is around $750 billion.
It was gathered that there would have to be conscious practical efforts in improving the non-oil sectors if the continent can compete with top economies in the world.

Lionel Messi branded 'Best of all Time' after comparison in career of Christiano Ronaldo (See Stats here👇👇👇👇👇)

LIONEL MESSI is the greatest player of all-time and is more entertaining to watch than Cristiano Ronaldo. That is accroding to former Inter Milan and Uruguay forward Alvaro Recoba. Messi and Ronaldo are widely regarded as being the best two players of their generation and they have taken the game to a new level in recent years. Until last year where Luka Modris won the award, either Messi or Ronaldo had won the last ten Ballon d'Or trophies on offer. The award has been shared five times each and the debate as to who is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) goes on and on. Lionel Messi branded 'best of all time' after comparison in career of Cristiano Ronaldo (Pic: GETTY) And both can state a solid claim as to who is the best when all things are considered. Messi has played for Barcelona for the whole of his career and has won everything there is to win at club level. There is plenty of football news and rumours in Saturday’s newspapers and online. Here’s some of the top gossip… Chelsea look to have won the battle to sign Borussia Dortmund prospect Christian Pulisic. The American is out of contract in 2020 and Dortmund have now accepted they must cash in on him at the end of this season. Chelsea, however, are in a hurry and will push for the deal to be done in January. (Daily Mail) Manchester City believe they’ve just signed a 14-year-old midfielder capable of following in Jadon Sancho’s footsteps. Darko Gyabi, an England youth player, has moved to the Etihad from Millwall in a deal worth around £300,000, with add-ons reaching over £1million dependent on success. (The Sun) Wolves are lining-up a January bid for the £20million rated Liverpool striker Divock Origi. Wolves have made signing a new forward a priority in the next transfer window. Real Madrid Struggles: Twitter Slams Perez For Selling Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid's dominance in the UEFA Champions League is finally over after they were defeated 4 - 1 by Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu last night. The Galacticos were stunned by a young Ajax side who overturned their 2 - 1 home deficit to win on a 5 - 3 aggregate. This means that the Dutch outfit has progressed from a Champions League Round of 16 stage for the first time in 22 years. Los Blancos are looking at a trophy-less season as they crashed out of the Copa del Rey last week and a second Clasico defeat to Barcelona the same week has left them with no hopes at challenging for the Spanish league title. The dismal results mean even worse for Santiago Solari who has been under the scanner even before the Champions League game. A qualification to the quarter-final would have helped the Argentine salvage his season but it appears his side have hit the last nail on their coffin. Of course, it got even more difficult for Solari to truly make an impact in the absence of an efficien

O'Neill upbeat on Euros despite 'disappointing' year

Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill has admitted 2018 has been a deeply disappointing 12 months for his team. Ireland will play their final fixture of the calendar year in Denmark on Monday evening having won only once in eight outings to date, far from the ideal preparation for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, which get under way in March. O'Neill has used many of those fixtures to blood new players and experiment with alternative systems, but he is well aware that results have been disappointing. Asked if he expected to have made more progress during the year, the Derry man said: "I would have hoped to, absolutely. I would like to have thought we could have found a wee bit more going forward, maybe have got an established goalscorer. "But it hasn't been. It's certainly been a disappointing year in that aspect, no question about it, and we have to regroup." However, O'Neill remains convinced that his team will more than make a fist of qualificatio
